12 Apr 2017 - A Canadian-based franchise that connects buyers and sellers for a flat fee says the time is right to expand internationally.
PropertyGuys.com believes it’s time to open up to the rest of the world after receiving demand from several countries and is starting with Australia.
The key to expansion is locating the right Master Franchise Owner in each area, Ken LeBlanc, President and Chief Executive Officer of PropertyGuys.com Inc, tells OPP.Today.
“With over 120 franchise units in Canada, we’ve proven that our system works time and time again, while saving Canadians a ton of money over the years.
“We’ve found the right business partner to launch ‘down under’ who agrees that it’s time for Australians to experience more money in their pockets when they sell their property. We’re going global and we couldn’t think of a better place to start!”
The company has big plans of expansion – with Australia the first of many international developments in the works and others following.
“It’s been really great so far! Although we are still in the early stages of franchise development, we’ve had a number of investors reach out to our Master Franchise, and have already received over a dozen franchise requests in the first few weeks of operation. Those numbers are very encouraging and we are excited to support those first franchisees and to make a big splash down under!
“Our main focus for 2017 continues to be on expansion into the United States, however we are also exploring the UK as a key real estate market that is primed for change.
“It’s all about finding the right partners to become Master Franchise Owners in each location. Our Head Office team is working diligently to get trademarks, legal and support resources ready so we can make a big splash internationally in 2017 and beyond.”
Marcus Cann, Chief Executive Officer of PropertyGuys Australia. says, “We are now recruiting our foundation franchisees – The Perfect Fit. The best part is that you don’t need previous real estate experience. You have to have a great attitude and a willingness to learn and our rigorous training program will take care of the rest.”
Thereafter, Australian franchisees will have access to over 120 small business owners in Canada on everything that PropertyGuys.com has to offer.
“With the vast knowledge of our Canadian partners and an industry that’s ripe for change, there’s no better time to get involved,” says Mr Cann. “We believe PropertyGuys franchise owners and their teams will be the most educated and trained new real estate professionals in the market in Australia.”
Every 13 days on average a new business joins the franchise Canadian network, which now has 100 operators in 600 locations across the country.
John Stordy, Franchise Development Manager, explains, “In terms of Franchising in Canada, each unit sells for between $40,000-$60,000, plus start up costs. Our RealEstatePro package (full service) offering in Canada is around $2,499 (national average) – which is ten times less, or a fraction of the cost, of using a traditional agent or brokerage service.
“In Phase I of our international expansion, we’re taking a ‘sniper’ approach which involves using our contacts within the franchising and international real estate community to find the right candidates. In Phase II, we will be engaging in an aggressive digital campaign to find the Perfect Fit, as well as working with a select group of top-performing franchise brokers in order to target specific regions for growth.”
PropertyGuys.com started in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1998 and became a full franchise system in 2001.
