Tony Roma's (US) Continues Strong Growth in Spain

20 Apr 2018 - Romacorp, Inc., the parent company of Tony Roma’s, announces the opening of its newest restaurant, located in Albacete, Spain, the largest city in both the province and the region of Castilla-La Mancha. This is the 26th Tony Roma’s restaurant in Spain and the second location for Romacorp’s franchisee, Emilio Saban, who opened his first Tony Roma’s in February 2014 in Toledo, Spain.

“Tony Roma’s restaurants have seen unprecedented growth in Spain with more than 20 years’ experience and now 26 locations in the country, said John Brisco, President Global Franchise of Romacorp, Inc. “Delicious food is an international language, and our huge Spanish fan base really rings true to that statement. We are thrilled to work with Emilio and his team to open his second location, as we know it will bring nothing but happiness to Albacete residents and visitors.”

The new Tony Roma’s restaurant is located at the Albacenter Shopping Center, one of the most popular shopping destinations in the country. The restaurant is 5,920 square feet, seats more than 150 guests, and has TVs for guests looking to take a delicious break from a long day of shopping. The restaurant is just a short walk away from the Cybernetic Fountain, one of the most emblematic spots in the city, as it is the first fountain in the entire province to feature coordinated colored lighting for viewers to enjoy.

“We are very excited about bringing the Tony Roma’s experience to Albacete,” said Emilio Saban. “Our team is thrilled to open our second Tony Roma’s location, and we can’t wait to see what Albacete fans think.”

The Albacete opening is the latest in a string of transformational events for Tony Roma’s as the brand experiences renewed growth in the USA along with accelerated international growth. Tony Roma’s kicked off a strong 2018 with openings in West Palm Beach, Florida and Denver, Colorado, the first new restaurants to open in the USA since 2014. Additional restaurant openings are planned for later this year in both Colorado and Tennessee. Internationally, the brand’s growth continues to accelerate with restaurant openings planned in new key markets including Bolivia, Nicaragua and Sri Lanka, along with continued growth in existing markets such as Spain, Peru, Bahrain, Mexico, and Canada. Having opened its first restaurant more than 45 years ago, Tony Roma’s is truly a global favorite among fans around the world.
