Max's Group to Open 12 Pancake House (US) Stores in Saudi Arabia

01 Feb 2018 - Max’s Group Inc. (MGI) is widening its footprint in the Middle East through its Pancake House brand.

In a regulatory filing by assistant compliance officer Paul Cheah on Wednesday, the company said it has teamed up with Middle Eastern company Al-Bader National Establishment for Real-Estate Development to open 12 Pancake House stores in the next five years.

“We believe the brand’s attributes and offerings will successfully make its way into the mainstream population,” MGI president and CEO Robert Trota said.

Pancake House sells pancakes, waffles, tacos, spaghetti, and pan-fried chicken.

Al-Brader is primarily in the business of real estate trading, property development, furnished apartments, and shopping mall operations.

“We are excited to bring Pancake House to Saudi Arabia. We have been searching for a renowned brand to spearhead our venture into the food sector with the intention to deploy a substantial amount of investment,” Al-Brader CEO Badr Hamdi Hamed Albalawi said.

Pancake House already operates seven overseas franchise outlets in Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates and plans to open its first store in Qatar this year.

MGI is expanding its international footprint by opening 20 to 30 new outlets for 2018, primarily across its core brands which include Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, and Yellow Cab Pizza.

MGI’s brands also include Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Max’s Corner Bakery, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Meranti, Le Coeur De France, Maple, Kabisera, Singkit, and Sizzlin’ Steak.
