CCC (Poland) Plans to Open 60 Stores in UAE

02 Feb 2018 - Polish billionaire to expand footprint in UAE by opening 60 shoe, bag stores by 2023

Polish footwear and bags brand CCC will foray into the UAE by opening 60 stores in the next five years, a senior official said.

"The franchise agreement stipulates that by 2023, a minimum of 60 stores will be opened with a total floor space of at least 40,000 sqm. Nevertheless, we see a potential of many more stores," said Dariusz Milek, chairman and president, CCC. The group has signed a franchise agreement with the UAE-based Apparel Group, which provides for the sale of footwear in the six GCC countries.

"The opening of the first store is planned in early 2019. The franchise agreement refers to the distribution of products via the network of retail stores under the CCC brand and via online channels dedicated for the Middle East managed by Apparel. This is a good start for our expansion," Milek added. Milek is a Polish billionaire who was ranked as the fourth-richest person in the country with $1.6 billion net worth. He believes CCC will target the middle price range customers due to its reasonable prices.

Global research firm Euromonitor said the UAE footwear market grew three per cent in 2016 in value terms. The leading companies in footwear in 2016 were Apparel Group and Landmark Group, with respective value shares of 13 per cent and 12 per cent. Footwear trends, according to Euromonitor, will be heavily influenced by the international fashion scene over the forecast period, where consumers look for latest styles along with comfort and high quality when buying in this category.

Dubai's apparel and footwear market, valued at $11.5 billion in 2016, accounted for the largest share of the emirate's retail sector, said an analysis by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
