World's First Plant-Based Burger Joint Is Ready For International Expansion

30 Jun 2018 - After eight years of perfecting its ultimate plant-based burger recipe, VeganBurg, has announced its plans to expand Internationally with focus on the Southeast Asia and Middle East Regions. The priority countries targeted are Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.

Founded on October 10th 2010, the world's first 100% plant-based burger joint's mission is to inspire and excite the world to choose a plant-based diet as a form of sustainable living. "Let's face it, the fast food system will continue to be a big chunk of our lives. We cannot change it, but we can change what goes into it," CEO and founder Alex Tan says, "Together, we can fight climate change and start a food revolution. Let's change the world, one burger at a time." The popular plant-based fast food brand seeks to redefine veganism and to bring a solution to the rest of the world with tasty meatless burgers that are said to "upsize your health and downsize climate change".

Besides having a proven track record in various retail layouts from 500 sq ft kiosks to 2000 sq ft restaurants in Singapore, the VeganBurg concept has experienced tremendous success in the United States. In view of the global plant-based movement, VeganBurg is confident to expand internationally with focus on Southeast Asia and selected Middle East countries as its first regions identified for expansion with its strong support team located strategically in Singapore.

For its international expansion, VeganBurg has collaborated with World Franchise Associates (WFA) to identify likeminded business partners with shared values, vision and passion for sustainable business and the plant-based revolution.

"We've had seen a huge interest in franchising the VeganBurg brand, having been approached with thousands of enquiries since our doors opened in 2010. However, we chose to put our menu and system to test in the US, the land of hamburgers and franchise, following our vision to be the burger of the new generation. We placed our flagship outlet on Haight Street San Francisco as a hope to reignite the love, peace and freedom in the centre of the 60's hippie revolution. Since its launch in 2015, the Haight Street store has generated exponential revenue growth annually, despite San Francisco being one of the US cities with the most competitive retail space. We made it. And the time is now to go international," stated Alex Tan.

Troy Franklin, World Franchise Associates (WFA) COO said: "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Alex and his team at VeganBurg in support of their international expansion. With their 100% plant-based burgers served in an inviting and comfortable fast casual restaurant format VeganBurg offers a unique and genuine high-quality product for a new generation of health conscious and socially minded consumers and a great opportunity for investors looking for the next big thing in international franchising."
