Hilton (US) and Alshaya Group to Develop 70 New Hotels Across MEA
16 Aug 2019 - Hilton has announced its plans to develop and launch 70 Hampton by Hilton hotels in nine countries, across the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Russia. This follows the signing of an exclusive master development agreement with international franchise operator Alshaya Group on 31 July.
President and CEO of Hilton, Chris Nassetta said that the signing of the agreement will strengthen the companies’ ongoing partnership, as well as further expanding the Hilton hotel portfolio. “Alshaya has been an important partner, particularly as we celebrate 100 years of pioneering the hospitality industry this year, and we look forward to working together to introduce travellers to Hampton by Hilton in these high-growth destinations,” says Nassetta.
Executive Chairman of Alshaya Group, Mohammed Alshaya, said he is “excited by the potential of the Hampton by Hilton brand,” adding that the agreement represents “an important new partnership for Alshaya, further diversifying our offer to consumers, and allowing us to replicate the global success of Hampton by Hilton in our operating markets.”
Hampton by Hilton is a leading hotel brand in the Hilton portfolio, with nearly 2,500 hotels operating in 27 countries and territories. Following the agreement, Hampton by Hilton and Alshaya Group are set to deliver 50 more hotels in the next eight years – the first of which is expected to open in Kuwait in 2021 – with a further 20 in the pipeline.
