Radisson (US) and Atlantica Extend Fruitful Partnership in Brazil
05 Oct 2020 - After nearly 20 years of successful collaboration, Radisson Hotel Group and Atlantica Hotels have decided to extend their relationship by signing a new master franchise agreement.
Atlantica has long been Radisson’s key growth partner in Brazil, helping it build a strong presence throughout the country. We find out how this new agreement will take their existing relationship to the next level.
More growth opportunities for Atlantica
While Atlantica used to be a licensee for Radisson Blu, Radisson Red, Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson only in Brazil, the new deal covers all seven of Radisson’s brands. The agreement paves the way for the relationship between Atlantica and Radisson to continue for another two decades, while enabling the latter to significantly grow its footprint around Latin America’s largest country.
“After 20 years supporting the growth of our brands in Brazil, I am thrilled we have the opportunity to extend our relationship with Eduardo and his fantastic team at Atlantica Hotels,” said Jim Alderman, chief executive officer, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group. “Atlantica Hotels has brought our brands to life in vibrant cities throughout Brazil, playing a key role in our strategic growth plan for Latin America. We are excited for what’s to come as we continue our expansion and prepare to open three beautiful new hotels in gorgeous locations.”
A strong local partner for Radisson
Since it was founded in 1998, São Paulo-headquartered Atlantica has grown into the largest privately held hospitality company in Latin America. It currently runs more than 130 hotels across Brazil, of which 15 are operated with Radisson.
It all started with Radisson Faria Lima in São Paulo, now Radisson Blu São Paulo, which opened in 2001. The first Radisson property to launch in Brazil, its stunning views, contemporary design and classy amenities helped make the scheme a success for everyone involved. Radisson Red Campinas soon followed; the first Radisson Red property in Latin America, it continues to wow guests by offering today’s modern travellers a truly unique experience.
Three additional newbuild properties are already in the process of being built. Both Radisson Hotel Flecheiras on Brazil’s beautiful northeastern coast and Radisson Hotel São Paulo, Pinheiros will launch in 2022, while Radisson Red in Porto Alegre will follow in 2023.
“Providing the best hospitality experience at incredible hotels is the heart of what we do, which is why having this relationship with an exceptional hotel company like Radisson Hotel Group has made us so successful,” said Eduardo Giestas, president and chief executive officer, Atlantica Hotels. “We have a bright future ahead with aggressive development plans to build and open hotels in more cities throughout Brazil, giving our guests new experiences while creating memorable moments.”
